PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This is an essential package for all nurse practitioner students and new NPs. This package includes important psychiatric mential health topics including, pediatric mental health, psychopharmacology in self-harm behaviors and suicide risk prevention, pharmacogenomics, treatment of anxiety, PTSD for veteran and family care, and human trafficking.

Jessica L. Peck, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, CNE, CNL, FAANP
Clinical Professor; Baylor University
Dr. Jessica Peck is a Clinical Professor at the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON). She uses a variety of strategies to teach her students in the classroom, online, lab, and clinical settings. She holds active national credentials as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator, and Clinical Nurse Leader.
Dr. Jessica Peck provides innovative, visionary, and award-winning nursing leadership. She was Texas Nurse Practitioner of the Year in 2019 and is Distinguished Alumni for both the University of Alabama and University of Texas Medical Branch. She holds the Lillian Wald Humanitarian Award from the National League for Nursing and is Advocate of the Year for the American Nurses Association. She is a two-time Hall of Fame Inductee for nursing journal article of the year. Dr. Peck holds elite honorary designation of Fellow from both the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nursing.
Dr. Peck has published more than 50 clinical articles for peer-reviewed journals, is a regular contributor for parenting magazines and a frequent guest on radio, television, and other media. She authored Behind Closed Doors: A Guide for Parents and Teens to Navigate Through Life’s Toughest Issues, released by W Publishing.
Louis Chow, PhD
Senior Director of Network Development and Training Institute
Louis Chow, PhD, is the Senior Director of Network
Development and Training Institute at Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Mass General Hospital program. He is a clinical psychologist, Assistant in
Psychology at MGH, Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and
specializes in the care of veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
and other invisible wounds of war. Dr. Chow was recently appointed under Healy-Driscoll Administration to serve on the Veterans’ Home Council to ensure access to equitable, high quality competent care for Veterans across the well-being and safety of residents of MA-operated Veterans’ Homes.
Dr. Chow has overseen the education and training of thousands of clinicians and health professionals across the country seeking
to care for veterans impacted by the invisible wounds of war. He has
helped launch clinical programs in Florida and is supporting Home Base’s
efforts to expand outreach and clinical care of historically excluded veterans.
Dr. Chow is currently leading the development of new programs in Arizona.
Lauren Richards-Donegan, PhD
Director of Education and Training
Lauren Richards-Donegan, PhD is the Director of Education and Training at Home Base and oversees the Training Institute. She is an Assistant in Psychology at MGH, and an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Richards-Donegan oversees the provision of online and in person education to mental health professionals, first responders, military connected family members, and health professionals that work with service members and their families. She also oversees all training programs within Home Base including pre-and post graduate trainees, and professional development for Home Base staff.
Dr. Richards-Donegan is a licensed clinical psychologist and provides individual evidence based treatment to post 9/11 veterans struggling with a range of invisible wounds of war. She is also a Cognitive Processing Therapy
trainer and consultant. She has authored book chapters and peer reviewed
journal articles related to increasing understanding of barriers to mental
health treatment faced by veterans and enhancing community clinician access to training for empirically supported treatments.
Josh Hamilton, DNP, RN-BC, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, CTMH, CNE, FAANP

Dr. Josh Hamilton lives in the desert southwest, where he operates a thriving private clinical practice. With nearly a quarter-century of nursing experience, he also holds professorial appointments, leadership positions and consults extensively in the higher education space. Previously, he was Associate Medical Director for the largest managed care behavioral health network in the Desert Southwest. He served on the Nevada Board of Nursing’s Advanced Practice and Educational Advisory Committees and spearheaded the Donate Life campaign at the state level.
His professional interests include neurobiology, pharmacology and epigenetics. He is an internationally-recognized speaker on these (and related) topics at conferences and professional meetings. Dr. Hamilton earned his doctorate in nursing from Rush University in Chicago. At the University of Wyoming he earned a baccalaureate degree in Natural Science and Mathematics as well as a master’s degree in Nursing. He also has an undergraduate degree in Biology.
He is nationally certified as a psychiatric-mental health nurse; family nurse practitioner; family psychiatric nurse practitioner, telemental healthcare provider, and nurse educator. He was recognized as a doctoral scholar by the National League for Nursing, and he is a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Hamilton is also a master clinical psychopharmacologist (through the Neuroscience Education Institute), and he was the 2015 Distinguished Alumnus at his alma mater, the University of Wyoming. He is the Nevada state representative for AANP. In 2021, the Point of Care Network named Dr. Hamilton “America’s Top Psychiatric NP.”
Ryan Kennedy, DNP, FNP-C
Ryan J. Kennedy, DNP, FNP-C is the Associate Director of the Brown Clinic for Attention & Related Disorders, a private practice clinic located in Manhattan Beach, California. He received his Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Quinnipiac University and maintains Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. For the past 15 years he has been involved in clinical research, book publications, and peer-reviewed journals. He is a full-time clinician at the Brown Clinic, where he specializes in assessment, pharmacological, and psychotherapeutic treatments for pediatric and adult patients with ADHD and Comorbid Disorders.
He has completed the Master of Psychopharmacology program through the Neuroscience Education Institute. Dr. Kennedy is also certified and completed training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Beck Institute of CBT, and completed 3-years of psychotherapy fellowship training during his doctorate education, under supervision of Dr. Thomas E. Brown, who was Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry/Psychology at the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT. Dr. Kennedy has contributed to scientific research studies, presented posters on his research from his clinical practice, and he has contributions to peer-reviewed journal articles, and co-author of several books with Dr. Brown, including the first open-access free eBook published by the World Federation of ADHD.
